Episode 87
What is your definition of success? with Becca Pearce
August 14, 2023
Have you created and do you live by your own definition of success?
When Executive Coach Becca Pearce was a prominent CEO, she experienced a very public failure. Incredibly, this was soon followed by discovering she had a massive brain tumor, thankfully benign. In both situations, Becca worked hard to get back to being in charge, to getting back on the “success train” she had always been on. But after getting back to work, she was miserable. Becca recognized that it was time to create her own definition of success and to live by it. We talk about the lessons Becca learned and how she worked to redefine her life and to silence the mindcluck that had held her back. Are you feeling stuck right now? Do not miss this episode!
What you’ll learn:
- When you fail at something or make a mistake, the people who love you, will love you no matter what. They do not love you because of what you achieve, they love you because of who you are. Read that again.
- You can write your own definition of success and live by it no matter what path you’re currently on.
- Letting your emotions flow and then asking yourself why you feel angry, sad, frustrated, etc. gives you the opportunity to understand yourself better and to identify limiting beliefs which you have the ability to change.
- When mindcluck gets loud…What is your mind telling you? Do you know the part of you that is offering this mindcluck? Did you know you can “retire” that part of you?
- Pay attention to the voices in your mind when you are happy! How do they differ from mindcluck voices? By focusing on them, you can strengthen them. Neurons that fire together, wire together.
- The next time you feel tense/stressed/stomach clench, pause, and tune in to ask yourself where is that coming from?
- And so much more!
